Obama

He won. Hard to believe but he did it. It is possible for people to
accept each others differences. This is an exciting time.

President

Is the world ready to elect an African American as the president of the United States. I don't really think so but I guess we will find out today. It has been good that the campaigning did not center too much around Obama's ethnicity or McCain's age. Charlie believes that it is possible for Obama to win but I doubt it. The reason is because Bush got re-elected in 2004 despite his loss in 2000 and all the mistakes he made. I really believe people get persuaded by a person's religious beliefs which is a terrible reason to elect a president. As a society we require all professionals to fulfill certain criteria's in order to gain there position. As a teacher I am required to keep taking classes and professional development in order to stay current with the education system and I need to change based on my demographics. Why do we not expect our presidents to meet certain requirements. Your religion should not be an issue and you should have a certain intelligence to be a president. Bragging that you made it through school with average and below average grades should not be acceptable. Well atleast his presidency will end soon and we will get a new president. Now it remains to be seen which person the country will choose. Lets hope it is not another Republican in office I don't know if our economy can take it.

Snow

We got our first snow today. Technically we got some snow in the middle of October but that does not really count because it was really light and it was just a day. I don't think this snow will stick much but it is a sign that the snow is coming because we have always had snow on Thanksgiving. Some years more than others. I do hope this year it will be a light year. I know we need the snow but last year we got so much that it lasted till April. As a result Spring and Summer were very short. I would like a longer summer and Spring. Though this year I am determined to learn to snow board. I am going to buy my lift ticket passes and take snow boarding lessons. Hopefully Charlie will join me.
