Broken Wrist
Yesterday I broke my wrist playing with some of my students capture
the flag. The librarian at our school set up a gathering between
student union and NHS so we can get to hang out with each other. It
was fun. The gsmw consists of crossing over a divider to get the flag
on the other side. The goal is to tag the person so they wont get the
flag. We split the students into two groups and one of the group's was
down one player so the librarian asked if I would play since I'm young
and agile and I said yes. The game was going fine until I crashed I to
one of my student's and hurt my wrist. It was really hurting and I
just thought it was one of those pains that will go away but it
didn't. So one of the math teachers that was there said we should call
charlie so he will take me to the doctor. She called Charlie, he came,
and we went to the hospitol. They took x-rays and gave me the bad news
that my wrist was broken and dislocated.
So I had to go in today to get it realigned and get a cast on it.
Yesterday they placed a splint on it till I was able to go to the
hospitol today and get it fixed. I got anesthetized so I didn't feel
anything. My mom said I complained and woke up at some point but I
don't remember anything at all. So now I have my cast and probably
need to keep it for four to six weeks.
It's hard to believe that in my 30 years I have never had anything
broken until now that I turn 30. How ironic.
