Prom Dress

So my next big sewing project is making my niece's prom dress. See I
had made Charlie's and my costumes for Halloween last year. They came
out prerry good. Then I made a cape and a gown for myself. At a family
gathering I showed the gown to my family and they liked it. My brother
said I should make my niece's prom dress since he was going to give
her the money for the dress. Everybody laughed and took it as a joke.
Time went by and nothing was mentioned about the dress. Then one day I
went to my sister's house to look at her computer and my niece was
looking at the different prom dresses she wanted. She asked me if I
could make them and I said yeah, it didn't look that hard. She called
the dress shop here in Ketchum to check on the prices. They were going
to get back to her because they needed to call the shop in New Yoek
since thats where they had to order the dress from. I figured anything
over $500 was way too much. She didn't think so but then again she
didn't need to worry about paying for it. So she decided that if it
ended up being very expensive then I would make it for her.

The shop called her back and told her it would be around $450. She
asked me if that wasn't too much to spend on a dress and I told her
that I guess it wasn't. That is definitely more than I would ever pay
but times have changed and paying over $400 for a prom dress isn't
outrageous. So she decided that she was going to order it. And that
was that.

So over spring break she called me upset because it turned out the
dress was out of stock and they couldn't get it. She didn't know what
to do. I told her I would make the dress for her. So we made plans to
meet up at the fabric store in Boise to buy the material and supplies.
So now I am working on her prom dress. Charlie doesn't think I can
make it and my sister thought it would have been better to find a
different dress because my niece is very picky.

Well hopefully she likes the dress. So far I made a sample dress so I
can get the form and she liked it. I also made changes to the pattern
according to what she wants. I have cut the fabric and now I need to
put it together. Hope all goes well. So far so good.

When I initially read your comment, FadedGirl, I thought you being funny about my late hours, but then I realized you meant it for M. :) Both M and I were up hella late, but for M, that is shocking!

Soooo, M, what is the color choice and fabric type? What's the style? How long until the prom? How's it going? :)
