Prom Dress Part III

This is the dress she was going to buy. I was telling fadedgirl that there is no way the store she was buying her dress from would have made the changes she wanted and if they would it would cost her more. She wanted an open back, a higher slit, gold colored dress, and very little train. I managed to do that for her. Hopefully all goes well at prom this Saturday.

Prom Dress Part II

These are pictures of the sample dress I made and used to make the prom dress.

So I have finally finished the prom dress. Here are some pictures of the dress and my niece with the dress on. It didn't take me much to get it done because I spent all of my weekends working on it and as soon as I got home from work and finished cooking dinner I would start working on it. Lace and tulle is not exactly the easiest to work with. It sure did take time and patience to get that done in order to avoing tearing anything. I sure did have to have my niece come over and try it on several times to make sure it was just like she wanted it. Especially because she wanted it to be fitted to her body and a short train. So she had to have the right shoes and make sure the clear strap on the back was fitted enough to hold up the dress. She really liked her dress. She said it was the prom dress she dreamed of. I hope she really meant it. I am just glad she liked it.
