The sky is falling

So yesterday was our first snow storm. Not in the sense that it caused damage but in the sense that everything got covered in snow. I have no idea how much snow we got but it was enough. My car was covered in snow. No defroster was going to get rid of the snow on my car. The door handle was also covered in snow. It was a relief to finally get snow. The weater was very chilly and cold. Now even though it is 35 degrees it does not feel as cold. It's true when my family said it is colder before it snows than when it does snow.

When I woke up this morning you can still see the edges of the lawn so I figured it wasn't that bad. Besides it didn't seem like the lawn was covered with too much snow. So I did my usual routine in the morning with the exception that I kept getting calls from my family. See my car is back wheel drive and it is not a 4x4. So they were worried that I would get stuck in the snow. I didn't think it was a big deal and I was going to try to drive my car. So I went along with my routine and as I was straightening my hair my sister told me to warm up my car. I went outside and my car was covered in snow. I was already running late and I wasn't quite done getting ready and I had to uncover my car. Good thing Charlie was up so I told him to uncover my car. He thougt I was joking but I told him I was serious. See he was also bothering me and telling me to uncover the cars and I told him that he was exagerating, but this was before I went outside. So he uncovered my truck, I finished getting ready and of I went.

It was not a pleasant drive. It was probably one of the most nerve wrecking drives. My car would swerve back and forth when I stopped, made a turn, or took off. I was just grateful to get to work. I was so nervous. It was made even worse by the fact that everyone kept asking me if I was ok with driving my car. But, I should be grateful that they care.

But things don't end there. Then we had a blackout. Everything at school went dark. So first period was a bit chaotic. After about 5 minutes everything went back on. So on we went with things. Then they went of again after several minutes. Then they went back on and we were back in business.

Man were the kids crazy. You would think they are accustomed to this but they still get all excited over the snow and they are teenagers. Mix in a blackout and things just get interesting. I am surprised we managed to do anything.

Now some of the snow has melted but it will not be the end of things. It is only the beginning.

Brrr....it's so not like that here in sunny cali..breezy, sometimes humid, we're not sure if we should bring out the winter jackets yet, especially on days like today where it's t-shirt weather...

thanks for poasting...let us know how it's going...
