Can guys and girls be friends?

Well fadedgirl wrote about this topic and so did unilove and Miguel would like to know our view on this. I would have to agree with fadedgirl and uni that guys and girls can be friends. Similar to Maura I would have to say that I have gotten along better with guys than with girls. I have had more guy friends that girl friends. Though fadedgirl would probably argue that I am not your typical girl. I am not all girly, I don't cry on movies, and I am not too emotional. I think it just comes from the fact that I am more of a logic type of person.

I look more into the logic of things and less into the emotions. Which is what many guys tend to do. Which could be why I got along more with them. I am very close to fadedgirl and we could talk about everything. We are like the ying and the yang. She is more emotional and girly and I am not, but we still dealt with each other. But I still got along very well with guys. I could be their friend without getting more involved.

Within our circle of friends in high school there were two guys that were always around us. Other guys came and went but they stayed. I was always able to joke with them about not having a boyfriend. I would mainly joke with one of them. We would pretend that we were together and people would actually believed us. That is just how good our friendship was. Even through this we knew that the relationship that excisted was one of brother and sister. He cared a lot about me and so did I. With the other friend as a good bye not we wrote that we would marry each other and live in Alaska when we were 30 if we weren't with anyone. Pretty cute. I always valued their friendship. It never occurred to us, and still doesn't, that there was more to our friendship.

Besides it wasn't until the last couple of years of college that I really started to have girls as friends. It never seemed weird to me. So when people said that girls and guys can't be friends I thought that that was weird because some of my closest friends were guys.
